Our beloved Both Ways Cafe was reviewed in the Seattle PI recently, and the author, well, was a little confused.
She said "yes" to breakfast, but basically panned it for lunch, an assessment which I would heartily disagree with, and, by the looks of the various citizen review websites, you would too. And it doesn't quite make sense - perhaps it's more of a window into the cooking skills of Kristen then anything else, as she loves the scrambles, but pans the sandwiches as something she "could make [...] at home". If what Kristen can make at home is the only criteria she uses to review a restaurant, no wonder I often disagree with reviews in the PI.
At any rate, the review for your own reading pleasure is here, while the excellent both ways cafe is here. I think perhaps I might try and grab a breakfast there this weekend.
PS - Still haven't heard back from Paul yet, you all can help me by kindly reminding him to reply back when you buy a ticket to the opening this friday of the new screen!

I completely disagree with you. The breakfast at Both Ways is terrible! I've had breakfast there 3 times, and all 3 times it was substandard. In fact, the third time, my housemate and I actually couldn't eat our meals and we actually said something to the waiter know (he ended up comping our meal). The cheese in our eggs had absolutely no taste whatsoever, and the potatoes are bad, PERIOD. They have next-to-no taste, and what taste there is is that of something frozen. How hard is it to make good eggs and potatoes??? Not that hard. Now, I will say that their baked goods and coffee is very good. But I absolutely would not have another meal there again, which is unfortunate because they're walking distance from my house and I love brunch.
