Did you know that our very own Columbia City Farmers Market is turning ten this year? It was started in 1998, so we're "celebrating" its 10th birthday every Wednesday afternoon.
I marked this occasion last Wednesday. We just received our latest delivery from SPUD!, so I didn't focus on the veggies, and instead picked up some tasty cheese from Estrella (read the great article about their farm in ColorsNW), pickled beans, and some bread and soft pretzels from Columbia City Bakery.
I ended my trip with a visit with some of my neighbors, and one of the best meals I've had in a long time: pulled pork on a tasty polenta cake with yummy slaw from market vendor GreenGo Food (Fast Food with a Conscience). I will be going back there, soon. One of the best additions to the farmers market, ever.
PS: Does anyone know where the egg vendors have gone? I want some farm fresh eggs . . .
